The big news in wrestling for June 1 Becky Lynch becoming a free agent as she has not signed a new contract with WWE. It has been written that Becky is planning to take a sabbatical for the time being. Allegedly WWE was aware of this before she won the WOMEN's HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION in the Battle Royal. Why? There is a trust within WWE that Becky would drop the title to Liv Morgan at King & Queen of the Ring. Understandable. Throughout her career in NXT/WWE, we rarely hear anything about Becky being difficult to work with. Nothing but being a professional.

Interesting enough, Seth Rollins contract is reportedly expiring this month also. If his stem cell treatments for his back have progressively lessened in their effectiveness, this may be the perfect opportunity for him to get the back surgery he has stated he probably needs. This could very well line up with the time away Becky wants to take. This would allow her to be there with Seth supporting him through the surgery and his recovery.

Keep in mind, I am not privy to the extent of the damage in his lower back besides the stated stress fractures. Nor am I an Orthopedic Surgeon. However, I am experiencing firsthand the role of supporting spouse. April 1, my wife had surgery on her lower back. Her timeline has been 6 weeks of wearing a brace, using a bone growth stimulator, and she just started physical therapy which is about 6 to 9 months according to her surgeon. Luckily the car accident we were in on the way to her two week surgery follow up didn't delay her recovery timeline. It did amp up the pain as you can imagine. She was on light activity after surgery also. After all is said and done, this process is close to year.

Now I am not suggesting that Becky's sabbatical will last a year. I am just saying that if the surgery is the course Seth and Becky feel is best, I can definitely appreciate the fact she would want to be there for her husband and their daughter. One of the hardest things for my wife, was not picking up our Grandchildren and paying with them as she did prior to surgery. I can imagine being restricted in this way with his daughter would be a hard adjustment for Seth.

Again I have no knowledge of their plans. There aren't industry "insiders" feeding me information. It is speculation on my part. I am just saying if this is the road they have chosen, it definitely makes sense and look for Becky to be back in time for the Royal Rumble if not a month or two sooner as Seth progresses through the physical therapy aspect and is able to get back to what he was able to do before.
