Now we head into the Vengeance Pay Per View in San Antonio, TX. Our main event is all lined up. A very shaky alliance between Cena & HHH vs Alberto Del Rio & his hired minions Miz and R-Truth (Awesome Truth). should anyone from ADR's team pin Cena, they will win the WWE Championship. If Cena & HHH win, then ADR can't challenge for the championship as long as Cena holds the title and HHH regains his position of COO that lost at Night of Champions when Cena beat him there.
To play on the uneasy alliance between Cena and HHH, their tags will be somewhat forced tags with the person on the ring apron tagging themselves in. For some added drama, towards the end of the match, R=Truth is in the ring with Cena when Miz comes in for a 2 on 1 assault. HHH tries to get in the ring, of course the ref keeps HHH from coming in to assist Cena. ADR hands the title belt to Miz, who whacks Cena upside the head with it. A prone Cena is lying there. Ripe for the picking. ADR reaches his hand out and demands the tag. R-Truth decides to pin Cena himself. 1...2..ADR rushes into break up the tag. He and R-Truth start to argue in the ring. Cena comes o, pushes R-Truth into ADR who falls through the ring ropes and onto the floor. Miz rushes n and is greeted by a Pedigree from HHH. Cena hoists R-Truth up and delivers an Attitude Adjustment. 1,2,3 Cena and HHH are victorious. Cena retains the championship and HHH regains his COO position.
Just before the announce team is about to wish everyone Good Night, a person wearing a sweat jacket with the hood up jumps over the ring barrier and steps into the ring. The hood comes down and it's Punk. Punk unzips his sweat jacket, points to the WWE Championship belt he is wearing and takes a leather-bound portfolio out. He opens the portfolio, flips through a bunch of pages, affixes his signature to the last page, drops the portfolio at Cena's feet and leaves the ring area back through the crowd. A stunned Cena looks at HH H who tells Cena he has no idea what is going on. Fade to black.
The following Monday Night Raw, Cult of Personality plays as the crowd screams their excitement. Punk comes out and hits the ring. He requests a microphone from ringside. Once he has said microphone he states "For the past three months I have been at home while my management team was negotiating a new contract for me. A contract that I signed in the ring last night and left at John Cena's feet. During those months, i saw Rey Mysterio win his first ever WWE Championship and I couldn't have been more excited. If anyone in this company has earned the right to be WWE Champion, it is definitely Rey. Unfortunately, he lost it about a month later to that JBL wannabe, Alberto Del Rio. The less said about that, the better. Now who ultimately becomes WWE Champion but John Cena. Of course he did. We had a feel-good story going on. Rey winning the most prestigious title in wrestling and somehow that title finds its way back to Cena. Surprise! Surprise! Surprise! The Master of Backstage Politics once again becomes the Champ....except for the fact I beat you John. I pinned you and I beat your ass at Money in the Bank and now you're out here calling yourself WWE Champion. You may have beaten Alberto to win that fake title but you haven't beaten me. So you can just take that phony replica belt you back to whatever place you purchased it from and get your money back because the REAL Champ is here and it's MY time now" or you know something to that effect.
For the last segment Cena comes out to the ring and says " Yes Punk. You beat me at Money in the Bank. Kudos to you. However right after that on the very same night you walked out of the company. or maybe you ran because you knew that I was going to come right after you and take my title back. Like some, you were able to get the job done once. Were you afraid that like everybody else, you would realize that getting the job done once is a lot different than doing it twice? Are you so full of yourself that you thought the company would go without a WWE Champion in hopes that you would grow a set, sign a new contract, and come face me again. Well you have done one of those things. Let's see about the other two. PUNK if you want some COME get some" or again something to that fact.
Punk comes running to the ring and the two of them start to brawl. HHH, referees and the guys in the locker room come out to pull them apart. Once they are separated, HHH agrees that both of them have a legitimate claim to being Champion. At Survivor Series we are going to find out who earns the right to still call themselves Champion by winning 2 out of 3 falls.
In the coming weeks, we have the usual attacks from behind. Interference in one another's matches, etc. HHH decides he needs to have a special referee that can handle the 2 biggest egos in WWE. Someone who has an ego even bigger than theirs and he isn't talking about himself. Oh no. He doesn't want either one of them to blame him for their loss. So he made a phone call to the only other person he could think of with a massive ego....The ROCK!!!!
Rock's music plays as he comes out from backstage. This would close the episode of Raw 3 weeks before Survivor Series. Giving them 3 episodes of SmackDown and 2 Raw episodes to promote the 2 out of 3 falls special guest referee match for all the marbles.
The night of Survivor Series. Punk wins the first fall with the Go To Sleep. Cena wins the second fall after hitting the Attitude Adjustment. Following most 2 out of 3 falls matches, the expectation would be that Cena wins fall 3. Which then means Cena and Rock's match at Wrestlemania XXVIII would be for the WWE Championship. Let's not do what conventual thinking tells us to do. As Cena picks Punk up to deliver another Attitude Adjustment, Punk lands on his feet and delivers a quick GTS to Cena. 1,2,3 Punk wins the third fall.
I believe a scenario, such as this, would have added more drama and storyline to the Punk/Cena feud instead of a quicker resolve. This would also reduce the hot potatoing of the WWE Championship. (Cena to Punk then Rey to Cena to Punk to ADR to Cena to ADR to Punk) vs Cena to Punk then Rey to ADR to Cena to Punk. Instead of 6 different reign we have 3 different reigns after Punk left Money in the Bank with the title. This would also add another layer to the Cena vs Rock match at WrestleMania XXVIII.
