Episode 2 of the Mr. McMahon docuseries is titled "Heat". This i where we start getting into some the problems or issues that plaque the company in the late 80's and early 90's.

WrestleMania 2 was problematic, mostly from a technical aspect. You had the show emanating from three different cities. The idea was to have a main event in each city. You start in New York, then you pick up a feed from Chicago, and then finally from Los Angeles to close the show. Unfortunately, there were issues n between the feeds and with audio between the cities.

WrestleMania 3 was as great as McMahon envisioned it. It was presented at the Pontiac Silverdome with a record figure of 93,173 people attending: according to McMahon. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer would disagree claiming it was only 78,000 people. Whether it was 93 thousand or 78 thousand, this show delivered. In fact, for many, this is the WrestleMania that all others is compared against.

As the 80's would close, the controversies would begin. From the Ring Boy scandal, to the alleged rape of a female referee, Then you have the steroid scandal. The decision to re-introduce Sgt. Slaughter as an Iraqi sympathizer. Not the best idea. Who knew we would be going to war against Iraq months after. Feeding into American Patriotism, a tried and true story to tell in wrestling, wasn't welcomed in the 90's.

I don't mean to gloss over the scandals of that era. I just don't think I could emulate the feeling you get by watching folks talk about them; especially the alleged rape. What that young lady went through publicly....It is a stark reminder of why, even today, females are afraid to report rape.
