Judge Milton C. Hardcastle is a retired California Superior Court Judge. Mark McCormick is an ex-racecar driver turned car thief. How in the bloody heck do these two come together to form a partnership?

As it should happen, McCormick was Judge Hardcastle's last defendant in his courtroom. As Hardcastle, or as folks who would go through his court would come him Hardcase, is getting ready to retire he figures he needs a little hobby. 200 cases went through Hardcastle's courtroom, that for one reason or another, the guilty were able to walk away scott free. His plan? How does one catch a criminal?

Being that these were folks that walked out of his court, Hardcastle couldn't go after them himself. An ex-convict, willing to work along side him, would be his wahy to track down and bring those folks to justice. The position, a sort of conditional parole, is offered to McCormick after he visits Hardcastle's court for stealing a Prototype X car...the Cody Coyote. McCormick's murdered friend helped design the car. To get McCormick to agree, Hardcastle decides their first case will be bringing the murderer of McCormick's friend to justice. Once they accomplish that, their partnership is sealed and McCormick is able to keep the Coyote.

Their partnership, although it does have its ups and downs, works. For three seasons, they would folks to justice for their crimes. Hardcastle views himself as a modern day Lone Ranger upholding law and order. Nothing is more sacred to him then the word of the law. McCormick, on the other hand, thinks that the law is not always right.

Hardcastle & McCormick is currently streaming on the Roku channel. If you like the typical buddy movies, you will enjoy the show. By the way, as most 80's shows, it has an awesome theme song "Drive" by
